MADURAI - OTTHAKADAI NARASINGAVALLI THAYAR

The greatest sage, Romasa Maharishi, one day suddenly had a desire to see Narasimha Avatar. For that, counting on Narasimha, he did severe penance for many years. One day, Narasimha appeared to him with great fury, shaking the earth. Romasa Maharishi was very happy to see the incarnation of Narasimha.

But Narasimha's fury did not abate at all. Lord Shiva came as Sarabesvara to protect Pragalathan, when Narasimha came in anger and calmed down his anger. Similarly, today, when Narasimha came to Romasa Maharishi with great anger, Mother Mahalakshmi came with a height of six feet like him, and to appease and pacify his anger, he sits there as Yoga Narasimha. That place is the workshop of Madurai.

In all the other temples, the image of the mother is not equal to the height of Perumal, but lower than him, or as a small idol with a lower figure. But in this place, as a six-foot image, we can visit the Mother. Othakadai Yoga Narasimha Temple is the place where the sage took the boon that the person who comes here should be given the boon they ask for immediately and that their status will be elevated through Lakshmi Kataksha.
